This was always going to happen... I apologise to the people waiting for their requests, but did you think I could ignore that scene?
I think I've made my love for River Song clearer than most people would like it, so I'll refrain from going on about it here. But this scene was just so....
Anyway, after finishing the episode I spend hours on a happy cloud, painting this (and a few others and a vector art thingy all of this scene).
More experimenting going on obviously... What I wanted to do - and what I immediately had in mind after seeing this scene - was one of those pieces that look kinda painty, kinda unreal, kinda fairytale... (Yes, obviously years of lessons have still not taught me how to do a proper description of a particular art style
) Kinda like this:[link]
So what did I do?
Er... I started with just drawing them in the weird, soft cartoon style I've been trying out lately, except without the lineart.
After that I painted over the 'cartoon' layer. Very roughly, without much detail (yes, it did pain me to do so
Then over THAT layer I used an ever bigger 'painty' brush.
And then I texturised the hell out of the whole thing. Available as print (and random other stuff) from RedBubble:[link]
