Years ago, when I was just discovering Harry Potter (the fourth book had just come out), I tried to convince my mum to read the books. Of course she didn't listen to her kid - parents, when will they learn. Then the movie came out and her obsession with Snape (and eventually Alan Rickman as any bad guy) began. So this is for her.
I actually made this as her birthday present. I'll have it printed on 40x50cm paper and framed. I already had her present, so this is more of a bonus present.
Why? Well, for some reason she has the Snape I drew for her in 2006 framed and on her freaking living room wall! It isn't event hat bad, but still I kinda felt like I had to proof I could do more with the character this time around.
I know she likes art nouveau and though she's never seen anything I've done with it I'm pretty sure she'll like this. It's more elaborate and dark than I normally make these, again, because think she'll like that better.
In case you are wondering (and if you have guessed this by yourself, hurray for you ), my reference for Snape was actually an action figure of him LOL He just looked kinda impressive with the flowy cape
The background reminds me of the stained glass platforms of the princess you saw on Kingdom Hearts in Sora's dream. This is very beautiful I like the shade of blue you used.
Kingdom Hearts is a video game created by Disney and Square Enix. Its a combination of both Disney characters and those from Final Fantasy. Basically you are going to different worlds battling famous Disney villians and creatures called Heartless who are attempting to destroy worlds by swallowing the heart of that world. Your artwork with Professor Snape and the stained glass background has a similar look to the ones in the very beginning of Kingdom Hearts. Here's a link to give you a better picture.
Wow! To be honest, I think the patterns on the robe are a bit much, but overall lovely work! And I do know the figure after which you made your Snape - its wonderful

Sorry for the long link.
I'm sure your mom loves it!
