I think this is my favourite charcoal drawing... I don't know, it just has that something extra... or maybe I'm a sucker for dramatic scenes...

And I just realised, this will go nice with my "The Violinist" :)

Love it, as a pianist myself I've always wanted to draw the piano, but it seems that no matter how I envision it, it comes across bulky and awkward. I love how you've contrasted the starkness of the keys with the soft and curved rendering down the side. Everything is well poised so that it leads into the hands. And Adrien Brody - what's not to love! You've brought out the profile of his face really well. We're doing tonal excercises at uni at the moment, and its nice to have some inspiration other than boxes stacked on top of one another.

Thank you! This was just one of those times when everything came together perfectly! The piano was something I was worried about especially because charcoal doesn't let you add as much detail as I'd like, but it worked out in the end :)

I've only had about three art lessons, but by then I was far ahead of the teacher (who was a disaster), but I remember we were learning where to place shadows by looking at pyramids... incredibly boring :O

It was a very dark movie. But I thought the ending was uplifting in a strange way. If you really want to see a depressing movie, watch The Road... Honestly I have NEVER seen a movie more horrible than that... It just makes you feel so low you wouldn't beieve it! Wait, maybe you shouldn't watch it after all :)
